On Saturday, we attended the Hoffart Family Reunion in Plantersville, Texas. We had a nice time visiting with Jacob's family and extended family and listening to stories, etc. The Hoffarts were originally German and it was fun learning that the first Hoffarts to come over to America were Jacob and Alice Hoffart. I am not sure what year they came over but I did learn that Jacob and Alice had ten kids - 8 boys and 2 girls. The 3rd oldest boy was named Stash Hoffart and that is Jacob's great-grandfather! He informed me that he found the name of our next son! Interesting. Anyway, Stash and his wife Apolina had 8 or 9 kids - I can't remember and the second to youngest was a boy named Freddy - Jacob's grandfather. Then Freddy and his wife Ella had 7 kids - 5 boys and 2 girls........Jacob's dad being one of the boys and then we get to Jacob and then Wyatt - the newest of the Hoffart generation. Pretty neat stuff. It was fun seeing little kids running around with name tags on with the last name of Hoffart. There was even a little blond hair boy running around, getting into trouble with a name tag on that said Jacob Hoffart - go figure! That name must mean "wild child"!
So we had a good time and Jacob really enjoyed learning more about his family and meeting other Hoffarts that he has never met before.
This is Grandma Hoffart (Ella) and her first great grandson - Mr. Wyatt!

Some of Jacob's cousins - Kiley & Peyton

Jacob and his cousin Jeremy

Our little Hoffart Family - it was pouring outside and the kids were hitting a pinata under this pavilion.....and Wyatt was in need of a nap - big time.

Jacob and Kevin - they are third cousins but work together at the fire department. They actually had never met before they started working together - kind of funny - the Hoffart family is huge.
And yes Jacob was sporting the bright orange name tag the entire time!
