A day in the country

We spent the first part of Saturday out at Miracle Farm in Independence, Texas with my parents and sister. "A day in the country" is always the first weekend in April and this was the Hoffarts first trip to Miracle Farm. I really hope to make it an annual trip because it was so much fun and absolutely gorgeous!

The Miracle Farm boys were practicing when we first got there.

We spent a lot of time in the Barnyard - Wyatt had a grand ole' time petting the animals.

At first he was more interested in the sawdust than the little chicks or ducks or whichever these were! They dyed them fun Easter colors.

Action shot of him strangling one of the little ducks - poor little thing was chirping for help.

Check out Jacob's face in this picture - another duck that was in the process of getting strangled!

Wyatt being "gentle"! Much much better.

Hey bunny : )

Petting the bunny! He also gave the bunny a few kisses but I wasn't able to get a picture of that - but it was precious of course.

Checking out Frosty the cow.

Loving on the pony.

Touching Frosty's nose.

Really not that interested in the sweet little lamb :(

Hey this one looks like Max!

And of course just playing with some hay! The boy loves the hay.

After the barnyard, we took a wagon ride around some of the property. 350 acres of beautiful-ness!

Before lunch we visited the kid zone for a brief moment - Jacob took Wyatt up the big slide but he wasn't all that excited about it. One time down the slide was good for him.

Wyatt experienced his first bluebonnets! He took a bite of a few of them.

Not so tasty.

Now that is much better!

We had a delicious bbq lunch under some giant Oak trees listening to a local blue grass band. Just so peaceful!!!

One of my parent's friends - who is also the President of Children at Heart Ministries - gave the blessing.....he also gave the blessing at our wedding!

And it wouldn't be a good ole' Texas event without some BlueBell ice cream!! Jacob was very happy about this.

"A day in the country" was such an amazing event - check out the link to Miracle Farm if you are interested in learning more about it and mark in on your calendar for next year!! You will love it : )
