Big W is 4!!

Tuesday, April 9th

Our precious, sweet Wyatt Aaron turned 4 on Tuesday!  We have a 4 year old (yikes) and he is so excited to be 4.  We had a fantastic day celebrating Wyatt's birthday with our family - very busy and tiring but an absolute blast. 

The day started off by Wy wanting to wear his birthday shirt.  He was extremely excited to wear it again and he wanted G to wear his birthday shirt also.   

Next up, it was time to measure our 4 year old!  Jacob hustled outside to cut out this 4 from some cardboard in the garage.  Wy loved it! 

This was only our second time to measure Wyatt.  We started off the year with a measurement even though we wish we had done it when we first moved in.  Oops!  But better late than never. 

After measuring the 4 year old, we loaded up to head down to the zoo!  The boys were so excited and G asked to go to the zoo almost the entire drive down. 

Our boys LOVE the zoo!  They have been so many times that they could probably navigate the zoo by themselves.  The weather was awesome and even though we were there with 900,000 field trips, it didn't feel all that crowded.  Either that or we just did a great job of avoiding the millions of kids!

I took this picture right outside the reptile exhibit - which happens to be Wyatt's favorite.  I could care less to see all the snakes and other reptiles but this kid loves them all.  He runs from window to window and wants to point out each one and is just flat giddy about everything.  At one point, Jacob grabbed a hold of him to show him something and said to me "his heart is racing"! 

On our way out of the zoo - G was so tired and ready for a major nap (although he never ended up going to sleep).

After exiting the zoo, we rode the train.  Wyatt always asks to ride the train but we deflect the question as much as we can.  Since today was a special day I told him we would ride it before leaving.  His response:  "and get a prize after riding the train?"  Meaning, since they make us exit through the gift shop, can I buy something?!  So yes, we let them both pick out a little something in the gift shop before heading to the car.  They were very happy until Wyatt's buyer's remorse set in and he was very sad he didn't get a certain snake.  He suffers from buyer's remorse - poor guy!

After we left the zoo, we stopped by my grandparents in Pearland for a little visit.  When we drove up, my grandmother was blowing off the driveway.  Wyatt quickly took over the job.

Granddad really wanted us to eat watermelon on the back porch so we stripped off the birthday shirts and gladly olbiged!  How do you say "no" to a 92 year old!!!  G loved the watermelon!  My little sweet tooth kid : )

 Wyatt wasn't a huge fan but enjoyed a few bites.

Quick baths after watermelon, quick outfit change, then loaded up for CS to watch some Aggie Baseball!  See, I told you it was busy and tiring but an awesome day!  As soon as we rolled into town, we hit up Chicken Express and took it to Olsen.  We met my parents in the parking lot and had a quick dinner outside the ballpark.  April met us at the game and took a few pictures of the boys!  They were so good and had such a great time.  The Ags beat Sam Houston 4-1!  It was such a fantstic evening at the ballpark and a great end to our birthday celebration day!!!
